Habitat

Mainly rocky sandstone slopes at low elevations, also granite and clay.

Description

Plants 30-50cm high. Leaves narrowly sword-shaped, 5-10mm wide. Flowers in lax, sometimes branched spikes, purple-pink, perianth tube 20-25mm long, flared above. Watsonia = after Sir William Watson, a London physician and naturalist, d. 1787.
