Description

This Spurfowl (francolin) is endemic to the Cape, especially in the South-western winter rainfall region. It appears dark all over, above lightly scaled brown and below boldly streaked with white. The lower jaw and legs are red/orange. It is found in fynbos, riverine bush and gardens. Common resident.
