Description

Total length 56-60cm, tail 13-16cm, weight over 3kg. Soft woolly hair is greyish or buffy sprinkled with black, underparts pure white or with buffy bands. Fluffy tail black above, white blow. The ears are very large - about 14cm long (larger in females). Prefers habitat with good cover of bushes or scrub. Nocturnal and solitary, lying up in 'forms' in thick cover during the day with ears folded back. Feeds on grass.
