Description

Male: breeding plumage: the head is brownish-orange with yellow under-parts and yellow-green upper-parts. Faint dark olive streaking on back and the iris is yellow-white. Female & non-breeding male: Above greyish-olive streaked light dusky, throat and breast buff, shading to white under-parts. The breeding female is brighter yellow below. Found in wooded rivers, streams and kloofs and reed-beds near trees. Common resident.
