Description

Endemic to the south west and southern Cape’s rocky slopes and the fynbos covered mountains, this siskin is shy and unobtrusive. The white tips on the wings and tail feathers are diagnostic for both sexes, especially in flight. The male has a light brown crown and nape, streaked darker, a brown back and greenish yellow rump. The female’s upper-parts are similar to the male’s with a yellowish green breast and brown streaked throat. Common resident
