Description

The largest of the ring-necked doves, it has a red eye with purple-pink eye-ring. The back is purplish-slate grey and the underparts pinkish-grey. It has a black collar on the hind neck. Seen in the trees along the Kleinrivier and also the woodlands in Fernkloof. Common resident.
