In heavy soil, often in partial shade, in large colonies.

Description

Plants 10-40cm high. Leaves 1 or 2, lanceolate or strap-shaped, plain or densely spotted. Flowers greenish yellow or pale to dark blue, sessile, cylindrical. Perianth 15-20mm long. From: W. de Lachenal, d. 1800, Professor of botany at Basel.
