Description

Very large grey bird with white belly and neck, streaked black in front. Yellow bill, black stripe behind eye, back grey and belly white. Stands for long periods in shallow waters, waiting for prey. Found at Kleinrivier Lagoon and other shallow inland waters and estuaries. Common resident.
