Description

A medium tern with slender black bill with yellow tip (as if it dipped it's bill in butter (sandwich!) ) The fore-crown is white and the hind-crown streaked when not breeding. The upper parts are pale grey and the rump white. It feeds off-shore at Kleinrivier lagoon and rests on the beach. Common resident.
