 Hirundo rustica


This abundant summer visitor is easily identified by itís russet chin bordered by a black throat. Above it is metallic blue-black with a rufous forehead and below a buff white. The tail is deeply forked with white windows. It is commonly found over water, grassland and cultivated lands and at night roosts in reed-beds in flocks of hundreds of thousands. Common summer visitor.
