Description

This is the only tchagra that is endemic to southern Africa and is found in dense thickets in coastal bush and thorn-veld. It has a reddish-brown crown grading into olive-brown mantle, back and central tail feathers with bright chestnut wings. The face and eyebrow are white with a black line through the eye. Rarely emerges from its thick cover. Rare resident.
