Description The non-breeding male is streaked blackish brown above, white below, and heavily streaked brown on the breast. The rump and bend of wing is bright yellow and the wings and tail blackish. In breeding plumage the male is mostly black with the bend of wing, lower back and rump being bright yellow. The female is similar to the non-breeding male, but the rump and bend of wing is olive-yellow with blackish streaks. Occurs in moist grassland and vleis. Common resident.
