Description

Endemic to southern Africa the Cape Rock Thrush can be found on the rocky hillsides of Fernkloof Nature Reserve. The male and female differ in that the male has a blue-grey head, throat and upper breast with a mottled brown and rufous back while the female has a mottled brown back with black streaking and mottled brown and white face and throat. Both sexes have rich orange-rufous under-parts. Common resident.
