Description

Bulbous plant 300-550 mm tall. Bulb scales carmine coloured. Leaves emergent or present at flowering, erect, rigid, cylindrical, 0.3mm wide. Flowers silvery purple-brown, in lax cylindrical raceme, recurved, tepals 10-15mm long, joined below for 3-5mm. Anthers purple. All parts of plant sometimes poisonous or pungent. From Greek: drimys = acrid or pungent.
