Description

Short broad leaves distinguish this species, a shrublet up to 300mm, erect. The flowers, grouped in threes, are borne at the tips of the branches. The pink urn-shaped corolla, 3 to 4mm long, turns brown at an early stage, but the sepals and bracts turn pink and then red, keeping the flower's colour. Azaleifolia=with leaves like the genus Azalea, a member of the Ericaceae.
