Description

Plants 12-35cm high. Corm globose with woody overlapping tunics. Leaves linear, margins and midrib moderately thickened, 1-2mm wide. Flowers in 3-8 flowered spike, white, outer tepals often flushed with pink outside. Perianth tube about 2.5mm long, tepals spreading. Bracts green, often translucent above. From Greek: geisson, tile; rhiza, root; = regular overlapping of the corm tunics in some species
