Description A plant up to 30cm tall, slightly sprawling open habit. Leaves are stiff and needle-like, have short hairs and bristly margins rolled under, and with axillary tufts of hairless leaves.
Bears spikes of white flowers.
A Near Threatened plant declining due to urban expansion and alien plant invasion.
Named after Marie Mercier, a botanist in Martinique (a Caribbean island), also a soldier, died 1831.
leptoloba meaning slender fruit; from Greek, leptos - fine, slender; lobos - capsule or pod.
