Description

A black and white bird with heavy hooked bill, white wing-bar extending to the shoulder, which forms a V on the back at rest. The female has a chestnut patch on the lower flank. The tail is often held at an angle to the body when perched. In Fernkloof in lightly wooded areas. Common resident.
