Description

A subspecies of O. hispidum, found from Darling to Hermanus. Plants 10-40cm high. Bulb tunics grey. Leaves ovate to linear, often with spotted sheathing bases. Green or dry at flowering, the margins thickened and minutely bristly. Flowers white in a narrow raceme, tepals spreading or reflexed. Seeds are densely prickly. hispidula = bristly hairs
