Description

A small compact antelope, about 54cm at shoulder and weighing about 10kg. Reddish-brown grizzled with white hairs, grading to yellowish-brown on face and legs. Buffy underparts. Males have shorter, slightly forward slanting horns, up to 12cm. Inhabiting thick bush and wooded areas on lower slopes and kloofs. Solitary with small ranges of 1-4ha. Mainly nocturnal resting in thick cover during the day.
