Occasional on moist sandy flats

Description

Plants slender to stout up to 60cm tall. Leaves two, pressed flat to the ground, very broad, margins narrowly hyaline. Inflorescence lax, from 3-30 in a spike. Flowers white to ivory with sometimes faint pink and green tinges and a sweet, slightly pungent scent. Bracts partly to fully deflexed. Spurs 15-20mm long. This species was occcasionally frequent in areas now much changed by farming, urban development and invasion of alien plant species. candidus meaning 'pure white, shining' refers to the white colour of the flowers
