Often confused with Disa atricapilla but Disa bivalvata is recognized by the shape and colour of its lateral sepals which are white. The inflorescence is corymbose (flat topped) with up to 30 flowers, the sepals white and the petals and lip maroon, the spur is obsolete. Disa more than likely named after legendary Swedish queen Disa |
