Description

Named in honour of E E Galpin, 1858 - 1943, called 'Prince of Collectors' by General Jan Smuts. Grew well on slopes of Galpin Kop and Maanskyn in Kleinrivier Mountains before severe fires restricted growth more than 20 years ago. If undisturbed by fire it will grow to 1.8m with branchlets densely covered with leaves and sulphur yellow flowers at tips. Has tubular corolla and awned anthers.
