Description

The largest gull in the area, it has a pure white head, neck and tail with black upper-parts. The eye is dark with a red eye-ring, the legs are pale yellow and the bill is yellow with a red spot on the lower mandible. Watch them at various beaches in the area, dropping molluscs from the air onto rocks to break them. Common resident.
