Description

Female: A single-stemmed shrub up to 2 m. The linear to sickle-shaped leaves have fine silver hairs when young (i.e. at the tips of the branches), becoming hairless later (65 mm long, 6 mm wide). Involucral leaves are yellow, and the hairy cones (30 mm long, 22 mm wide) retain seed for several years. Male: Similar to the female.
